On Friday evening, 9 November, over 100 members, friends and guests assembled at the Seamen’s Church
Institute’s Water Street Gallery for the delayed opening of the Museum’s latest exhibition, Dazzle & Drab.
It was the third special preview of that week: The previous evening, Seamen’s Church had held their
opening night reception and a press preview had been offered earlier that day.
Present as host for the opening night was the exhibition chairman, Woody Swain, pictured below.

It was Woody’s inspiration to mount this particular exhibition and he, no less than his wife Gregg, the
Museum’s Executive Director, are to be congratulated for a conscientious and superb job.
Also in line for thanks are the curator, Wayne Mazzotta, and the man responsible for the splendid trio of wartime models, Tim Leagjeld, in from Minnesota for the occasion. A major lender, John Miottel, and his family were also present from San Francisco.
A gala dinner was offered upstairs within the Institute building, an extremely pleasant meal
offered in congenial surroundings.
